It’s hard to believe that it’s already Friday. In my world, the week started off super slow. Finally, Wednesday came through. And now, Friday’s here. I had a productive week and slayed a time-consuming task that I’d been putting off. Yay! I was also able to have several productive conference calls and chats, and participate in a useful webinar. #grateful
Although there are tasks I didn’t start on, I feel good about the progress I’ve made, and I’m looking forward to more success next week. In the process of slaying and being productive, I was reminded of something. Attitude and perception mean so much. Let me explain.
My time consuming task for this week was to rebrand many of the images on my website. Sigh! It started off really slow. Then, the time started flying by, and I was like noooo I need you! I’m not saying that I’m finished just yet, or that I even liked it. But, at least my images are more consistent and actually support my brand.
And, I’m much closer to being finished than I was when I was sitting back dreading the whole thing. Honestly, I think there’s so much work to do on my site. But, there’s also only so much that I can do at any given time. I have learned to be patient with myself and maintain a positive attitude about it.
The funny thing is that once I stopped dreading rebranding my images, I was able to dive in and make real progress. That’s when I was reminded that my attitude can either support or hinder my goals. Yes, our attitude and perception about things really matter. Despite how much we dread a situation, if we could tweak our attitude a bit to find one or two positive things about it, it’ll usually work out. We’ll dread it less, it’ll be much easier to dive into and get it done.
For example, if there’s something you’ve been putting off, you can either continue to put it off, hire someone to do it for you, or change your attitude about it so you can knock it out in a day or two. The choice is yours.
I’m grateful that I was able to take a step back and really think about what I wanted and needed to accomplish. What are you grateful for today? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
